Research

All of our research is collaborative and multidisciplinary. Our goal is to improve the care of families affected by genetic disorders.

Current projects focus in these areas:

Genetic causes of intellectual disability

We are using genome-wide sequencing to understand the causes of intellectual disability and working to promote the adoption of this technology as a clinical service, enhance its clinical utility, and improve related genetic counselling.

Neurofibromatosis

We perform natural history and clinical epidemiology studies designed to increase the understanding and improve the clinical management of these autosomal dominant conditions that predispose to tumour development and other problems. Click here for more details.

Birth defects epidemiology

We use statistical methods and population studies to assess the risks and safety of maternal medications on the developing embryo and fetus. Click here for more details.
